Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information the Collage Studio Android app (package io.collagestudio.collage_studio, the “App”) handles, why, and the choices you have. Collage Studio is a photo-collage editor. We deliberately keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App.

1. Who is responsible

The App is published by the developer of Collage Studio (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact support@getcollagestudio.com. We act as the data controller for the limited data described below.

2. No account, no personal profile

The App does not have sign-up or login. We never ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, calendar, or precise location. The App declares a single Android permission: INTERNET (needed to load content and run the optional AI features). Access to your photos goes through Android’s own system photo picker, so you choose exactly which images the App can see.

3. Your photos and creations

• Building a collage happens on your device. Photos you pick are used locally to lay out and render your collage. They are not uploaded just to make a collage.
• AI features send only the image you’re editing. If you use background removal, object/person removal, or background search, the specific image is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing server, edited, and the result is returned to your device. These images are used only to perform that single request and are not stored afterwards, not used to train models, and never shared.
• Exports stay yours. Finished collages are saved to your own device gallery. We do not receive a copy.

4. Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how the App is used and to prevent abuse, the App sends a small set of anonymous usage events. Each device is identified only by a one-way hashed identifier (SHA-256 with an app-specific salt) derived from the Android ID. The raw Android ID is never stored or transmitted, and the hashed value cannot be linked back to you or cross-referenced with other apps.

The events record that a feature was used, never the content of your photos or text. They are limited to: app opened; a collage was started; a photo was added; a custom frame was drawn; background or object removal was used; a collage was exported; an ad was viewed; and interactions with the watermark/Pro screens.

5. Advertising

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, specifically optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch to remove the watermark from an export. Google AdMob may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. Where required in your region, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Buying Collage Studio Pro removes all ads.

6. Purchases

Collage Studio Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment and subscription; we only receive confirmation of your purchase status. We never see or store your payment-card details.

7. Third parties and where data is processed

• Google Play services / AdMob / Play Billing — app distribution, ads and purchases.
• Our processing server — hosted in the European Union (Germany); runs the optional background- and object-removal features and receives the anonymous usage events.

8. Data retention

Images sent for AI editing are processed in the moment and not retained afterwards. Anonymous usage events are kept only for as long as needed to operate and improve the App.

9. Your rights (GDPR)

Because we collect no identifying information, we generally cannot link data to a specific person. Where applicable under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection. To exercise any right, or to ask us to delete the anonymous data tied to your device’s hashed identifier, email support@getcollagestudio.com. You may also reset your advertising identifier in Android settings, and uninstalling the App stops all further data collection.

10. Security

Data sent to our server travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We restrict access to our systems and keep only what is necessary.

11. Children

Collage Studio is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
